Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am attempting the Great North 10.5 k SwimRun on 8th June. This involves a 10.5K run through the hills around Lake Windemere in a wet suit. It also includes getting in and out of the lake three times for a half mile swim while wearing trainers.
On 16th December 2016 our entire world changed forever when my wife Mel passed away from lung cancer. She was cared for by St. Anne's Hospice in Little Hulton, Manchester for the last week of her life. The care, compassion and selflessness they not only showed Mel but her family too was unbelievable. Everything she wanted she had. The entire staff displayed some of the most caring and selfless qualities I have ever seen. I was stunned at the care that not only Mel received but myself and my Daughter Faye as well.
To give you some idea of where your donations go to. It costs approximately Twenty Thousand pounds a day to run the hospice. That's approximately Seven and a Half Million pounds a year. Of which only 35% per annum is funded by the government. The rest is made up entirely from donations. The services the Hospice provides are not only patient focused but run to family support too. In the form of counselling and complimentary therapies as well.
So if you decide to help please be assured that you will be contributing to an absolutely unbelievable cause.
Thanks,
Paul Howard.
