UPDATE: 23/6/2012

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather over the weekend the Saturday schedule for the Great North Swim (which we were part of) was cancelled. However, we have both now registered for the Great Manchester Swim next Sunday (1st July) so a 1 mile, open water swim in aid of Mental Health Research UK is still going ahead. Thanks again for your kind donations, but there's another week to wait.

We are swimming in the Great North Swim to raise money for Mental Health Research UK in memory of our cousin Martin Sutherland, who took his own life in December 2011 after battling mental health issues for many years. Martin's dad Andrew is also swimming and his page can be found here.

 

Mental illness accounts for one third of all illness, but research into mental illness attracts less than ten per cent of all health related research funds. So please give your support in order to help address this funding imbalance, and to provide better diagnoses and treatments for those who suffer from mental illness in the future.
