Story
I’m not one to ask for charitable donations normally, and don’t normally do “charity runs”, however, the last few weeks have been completely crazy, and without the life saving help & support of Hull neonatal care I dread to think of where we’d be now. Seeing their none stop hard work & long hours caring for our twins Jess and Evie who arrived 11 weeks early weighing only 2lb 12 and 1lb 14 has been a real eye opener to the astonishing work that they do. They’ve still a long way to go but progress is being made.
I felt that I had to do something to show my appreciation so I’ve decided to set myself a ridiculous challenge, it’s called The Mad Hatter Hell On The Humber 9hr endurance run. I intend to run walk, & crawl back & forth over the Humber Bridge to a distance of or beyond 58.4km. The significance being Jess & Evie we’re born at 29.2 weeks gestation, so I plan to do that distance for each of them totalling 58.4km! To add to the fun, I’ve obviously had no time train for such an event, so this really is going to be a challenge, & distance isn’t really my thing, I prefer to run as quick as I can & get it over with, but my pain will be nothing compared to what those little baba’s have had to endure for the first few weeks of their lives.
I would love it if you could spare a few quid for this amazing team to help them continue their excellent support for families like ours.
Much love, Paul
