Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The fact that you've visited this page probably means that you know that my daughter, Amy, was diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia in March of this year. You can find out all about this condition at the website for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust, which is a charity supporting people who have AA and their families. There is a link to their website on this page.
The condition means that Amy had to have a Bone Marrow Transplant, which happened on 12 Jun. She had 5 days of chemotherapy before it and then spent a few more weeks in hospital. She was in hospital from mid-Feb to early July with only a couple of nights at home in the interim. We were incredibly pleased and lucky to find out in mid-July that the transplant had been a success and she is now on the very long road to recovery
From the 22 to 26 of July this year, I'll be walking to and from work for a week; it's a distance of about 9 miles a day.
In the short time that we've known about her condition, the Aplastic Anaemia Trust have provided valuable help, support and information to us all, and my walk is my way of helping the Trust to help other people. We'd be very grateful if you could sponsor me.
Thanks
