Story
Hello. The British Heart Foundation organises various events to raise money for their research and other activities. I've chosen to cycle from London to Southend which is 52 miles (that's a double marathon)! The event takes place this Sunday (21st July) so no time to deliberate. Just donate now!
If you're unsure, here's some facts about the successes of their research . . .
In 1961 only 20 percent of children born with a heart defect lived to their first birthday. Today that figure is 80 per cent, thanks to procedures such as valve replacement that help them lead improved lives.
Their work has also made heart surgery safer. It's led to innovative transplant techniques and is working on ways to make recovery quicker and easier.
They also provide education and information on subjects ranging from preventing heart disease through to life-saving skills.
