Story
On 8th June 2018, we lost our mum (Muv) to ovarian cancer. Along with my brother, John, and sister, Della, we were keen to do something positive in her memory, and the fact that this walk takes place on her anniversary seemed just perfect - we had to sign up! Our Dad, Dave, thinks we are mad, but understands why we want to do this, and is fully behind us as a key member of our support team.
Muv (Maureen Goddard) touched so many lives. She saw the best in everyone and always looked for the positive in every situation. She had so many friends, all of whom miss her terribly. She could magic a meal out of nowhere. She was our 'go to' person when we had a problem. She was patient and kind; a true listener, who never judged, but always seemed to know the right thing to say.
She was a wonderful Mum, Nanna and would be so proud of her Great Grandson, Benjamin, who was born in November 2018. Muv knew he was 'on the way' and was so excited! Sadly, she didn't get to meet him, but we all believe that Benjamin has a very special guardian angel to look after him...
And so it is that, in her memory, and with thanks to the people who looked after our Muv (and us), we have committed to walking the South Coast together, remembering how she shaped us, loved us and made us what we are.
