Story
I am 42 years of age and I have 2 young children and live in Guildford. I have worked for Rudridge Ltd for nearly 12 years as a branch manager for the Farnham branch.
For a couple of years now I have been participating in sporting events. They vary from bike riding, swimming, and triathlons to running half marathons. This has been a dream of mine to do the 26 mile Brighton Marathon.
I have chosen to fund raise for the shooting Stars/Chase and also for a young lady called Hannah Bradley.
The Shooting Star charity is currently caring for over 500 children, teenagers and their families living in much of London, Surrey and West Sussex.
They provide practical, nursing and emotional support to share every step of the journey with families, in whichever way they need. Their support is free of charge and care for families in their homes, in their communities and at two children’s hospices, Shooting Star House, in Hampton and Christopher’s, in Guildford. http://www.shootingstarchase.org.uk/
Hannah Bradley was diagnosed in April this year with the brain tumour called Anaplastic Astrocytoma and she underwent a six and a half hour operation to try and remove the tumours. Only the prognosis was not good. She was told she has a grade III tumour which leaves her with an unknown life expectancy.
Her partner has set up a website, http://teamhannah.com/, to try and raise money to send Hannah to America for what could be life saving treatment. Hannah has obviously touched many hearts and the support she is getting from people is tremendous. Hannah is also Emma Holt’s cousin who recently joined the admin team at Rudridge.
