Following a shock diagnosis of having Cancer in the liver and lungs (with undetermined origin) in April 2021 comprising of over 50 tumors up to 5.3cm in size, categorised as stage 4 and an initial prognosis of just months to live which ive now outlived and found EHE to be very comlex in its growth. I found the EHE rare cancer charity when it was confirmed I had EHE Cancer and was grateful for the support they offered in the initial diagnosis stages. I am fortunate to have had only mild symptoms and continue to live life to the full. Which a late friend said ... how staggeringly little has changed since my diagnosis.. ive always lived to the full since none of us know when our last breath may be!

Since then, Ive found out that EHE Cancer is one of the rarest forms of cancer there is, for this reason the EHE charity does not get as much support or research funding as some of the other common types of cancer.

EHE is a rare vascular tumour that arises from the lining of blood vessels. It can appear almost anywhere in the body, but common sites include the liver, lungs, and bones. The cause of EHE is presently unknown, and no proven treatments exist. The cancer often metastases throughout the body and possesses the ability to transform into an extremely aggressive state with little or no warning. In short, EHE is an unpredictable disease.

The EHE Rare Cancer Charity funds research into finding a cure and provides invaluable support to patients and families, whose lives are affected by this devastating disease. Sadly however, very rare cancer research gets no funding from governments, none from the pharmaceutical companies, and almost zero even from the big cancer charities such as Cancer Research UK and other charities. It affects women 5x more than men. It generally effects younger people worse.

I have given biopsy samples to the biobank in hope they can use it to help find some answers. There are projects ongoing but they are expensive and so I have wanted to do some fund raising for the charity myself.

Update 31.8.22... I am looking forward to the Wolverhampton Half Marathon on 4th September and completed the 100 Mile cycle to Essex in just over 5 hours.

Update ** I was unable to run on April 3rd 2022 due to a foot injury but will be running Wolverhampton Half Marathon on September 4th in its place. And cycling 100 miles from London to Braintree and back in RideLondon.
