London to Brighton Cycle Ride 2021 · 19 September 2021 ·

A mass-participation cycle ride covering the 54 miles from Clapham Common in London to Madeira Drive on Brighton sea front, with over 4,000 riders expected to take part.

Story

I've been lucky enough to get a place in both the September London to Brighton Cycle Ride and the October Royal Parks Half Marathon  thanks to Alzheimer's Society and what a great charity to represent as I look to raise a minimum of £600.  https://royalparkhalf.com//

Before you ask, I will not be doing a swimming event in November to make it a triathlon!

Over the last couple of years many of my closest friends have sadly had a relative affected by dementia and so I appreciate how important it is to find a cure and provide support for those that are suffering. Any support you can give me as I put in the miles over the next few months on bike and foot will be greatly appreciated.

How your money could help:

  • £5 will pay for 10 copies of the Dementia Guide, a lifeline for people trying to make sense of a diagnosis of dementia.
  • £9.90 will begin someone’s Dementia Connect journey by providing the first conversation with one of our telephone based Dementia Advisers.
  • £25 means 156 people can access Talking Point any time, day or night. Talking Point lets people living with dementia share and learn from each other in a safe online space.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
