Thanks for taking the time to follow the link to this my sponsorship page for the Four Peaks Challenge for Alzheimer's Society.

The Four Peaks Challenge is a sponsored hike over 3 days in June climbing 4 of England's highest fells in the Lake District. (10 hours hiking 13 to 16 miles each day, and camping at night)!

So you may well ask why I am going to put myself through this and not just do some leisurley walking and sleeping in some local inn  each night?

Well the reason is that just before Christmas my mother was admitted to a residential home as her Alzheimer's had progressed to such a stage that my father was unable to care for her at home. Mum continued to deteriorate pysically and mentally and finally died peacefully in hospital in March. Having seen this illness gradually claim the life of a wonderful mother and grandmother I felt that I had to do something to try and stop this happening to others.

Please sponsor me as I want to raise as much as possible to help fund research for a cure for tomorrow, as well as helping those live better with dementia today.

In addition for every pound I raise I hope that the Vodafone Foundation will match it so your donation is worth even more.
