Story
For over 30 years, the Highland Cross event has been incredible in supporting the work of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland across the Highlands. This support has included the amazing donations of 5 vehicles for our community services, a portacabin office in Fort William and computer equipment for regional staff. These incredible donations have without doubt allowed CHSS to maintain and develop our services for people across the region. This has been particularly important for people living in more remote areas who are affected by chest, heart and stroke illness. Having watched hundreds of amazing challengers take part in this arduous event and raise vital funds for charities like CHSS, myself and 2 hardy team mates are giving something back to the Highland Cross this year (blood, skin, body fluids, sweat, tears, body parts etc). Two CHSS colleagues are also on key marshal duties at the event too (don't mess with the ladies...).
The Highland Cross challenge consists of a 20 mile run/jog/walk/crawl through the mountains from the West Coast to Glen Affric followed by a bum-tingling 30 mile road cycle to the East Coast at Beauly. Any donation or any size for our efforts will be very gratefully received indeed and will allow us to thank the Highland Cross event for their highly valued support to CHSS over many years which has made such a positive difference to the lives of people we support in the Highlands.
