Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Latest update .. i am now officially fit to race having passsed my fitness and riding assessment... hopefully i know which horse im riding.. less than 3 weeks............. In a moment of madness I agreed to take part in the race which is held over 1mile 5f of the world famous Aintree course using borrowed race horses. I am so proud to be representing my Hunt, the Holcombe and to join other representatives from hunts around the country in raising funds for the Countryside Alliance who are so active in preserving our countryside and way of life for future generations. What I wasn't told was ... I needed to lose about 2 stone, get fit and ride out as much as possible on race horses ... as a fifty year old farrier this was not part of the plan ! Having said that we are well on target and I am so grateful to Phil Kirby  for letting me ride out and practice on his fabulous string of racehorses, I have learnt so much and am fitter than I thought possible at my age !  Keep an eye out for my video diary tracking my progress in the coming weeks .. no holds barred !!
