I'm running in the Great North Run Half Marathon on Sunday September 19th for St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.  As most of you know St Mary's, in tandem with Great Ormond Street Hospital is where Oscar and I have spent many, many weeks over the past 3 years while he receives his treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

It's hard to describe it adequately unless you've seen it first hand but the dedication and commitment of the staff at St Mary's is incredible.  Oscar's registrar Nancy never seems to go home.  However dedicated the staff, St Mary's would not be able to achieve such amazing results for the children they treat without the continued generosity of the public.

I know none of you will need convincing how worthwhile this cause is, but I do know there are endless worthwhile causes and sometimes endless requests for charity donations.  If all of you could donate £3- £5 however it would all add up to a really generous amount.  A small donation would be really appreciated.  I think most people would like to give more than they can afford and as they don't want to give a donation which they feel is insignificant don't feel they can donate at all.  This really isn't the case so a couple of quid would be great.   It would mean a great deal if I can give something back to St Mary's in this way.

Oscar has about 8 months left of a three and a half year treatment programme. He is on a trial programme of treatment developed by Great Ormond Street Hospital and is responding really well with no major problems for quite some time now.

Maybe you could forward this information on to your friends and family and I can run the race knowing that I have the widest support possible.
