Trans Aq' six-day ultra-marathon · 30 May 2011
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Starting on May 30, I aim to run a six-day ultramarathon, the 'Trans Aq' (http://www.transaq.fr/en/), to raise money for Save the Children -- a great charity that helps save children's lives all over the world. I will run an average of around 38 km a day, just less than a marathon, carrying my own food and kit along forest trails, beaches, and over sand dunes.
Day Three alone is 58.4 km, over appalling terrain that can tear your feet to shreds. If I survive that I will definitely treat myself to one of my three Tetley tea bags...Luxury.
I did the Trans Aq last year, but the weather can only be hotter this time and I haven't trained enough. It's going to be a very big challenge.
Your support will help me get through this. There will be times when I am alone and hurting quite badly -- that's when the support will mean a lot.
Here is an account of my experience last year:

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
