Story

In April 2023, I will be running the iconic London Marathon, I will be running to support Dementia UK.

Dementia can affect a person at any age but is most common in people over the age of 65.

There are over 200 subtypes of Dementia the most common are Alzheimers disease, Vascular Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia and Mixed Dementia.

By 2025, it is estimated that over one million people in the UK will have a diagnosis of Dementia - and we will all know someone who is affected.

I have been motivated to support Dementia UK after knowing one such gentleman Ken Joyce, this lovely gentle man lost his fight in February 2022 after 3 years of slowly starting with just forgetting where he had put things and difficulty putting words into sentences to not recognising family and friends and finally not remembering what we take for granted everyday like swallowing food and breathing.

All money raised provides Admiral Nurses who provide vital Dementia care to those living with Dementia and support for their families.

Please support me in supporting those people who are living with a diagnosis of Dementia.
