Charlie’s Story
Charlie’s Granddad Joe passed away in January 2009 while staying at St Francis Hospice due to cancer. Two years later Charlie was diagnosed with “Grievance Depression” after missing him so much. From February 2011 he was suffering from panic and anxiety attacks all related to his beloved Granddad, this also affected his school life. But with the help of all his family, teachers, friends, Doctors, counsellors and Brookside Interact NH Service he is well on the way to a full recovery.
This was no easy ride for Charlie or the rest of his family for a long while, so we as a family decided to get a Rescue German Shepherd Dog called Lou Lou who is 8 years old, she has been a great help with getting us all back on track.
Charlie and Lou Lou would like to say a big a “Thank you” to all the carer’s of St Francis Hospice for taking care of his Granddad Joe by raising money for them in their sponsored “Wags and Tails” walk at Ingatestone Hall.
