Story

My incredibly awesome younger brother, and life long best friend, was diagnosed with MND in June 2023. MND is a rare and devastating condition that progressively damages motor neurons, resulting in increasingly weakening muscles over a very short time.

The progress in treatments has been slow and currently there's little more than quality of life options available.

Going from "normal life" to hearing about symptoms and then getting the diagnosis took less than a month and has been absolutely devastating. I want to do everything I can to help Simon and others who've been affected. Hopefully providing a cure somewhere down the line to prevent anyone having to fall victim to this horrible disease again.

100 miles will probably take me at least 7 hours on the bike. I chose this event because it's a huge challenge but I at least have some baseline cycling fitness. I can't say I'm confident at the prospect of trying to do 7 commutes in a row (with very un-Cambridge-like hills)!

Please help me help the MND Association in beating this. I really appreciate your time hearing our story and for any donations made.
