Join Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity on the 100 mile closed road bike ride on International Nurses Day - Sunday 12 May 2019 - and help us raise valuable funds for equipment, research and facilities for patients and families.

Story

So, I did the Velo once as a once-in-a-lifetime event back in 2017. But, against my legs' and backside's better judgement, I'm now doing it again. So, there would need to be a very good reason, and there is. My brother and sister in law had a tough year last year, but which ultimately ended very happily with the (albeit very premature!) arrival of my lovely nephew Oscar. So I'm riding to raise money for the neonatal unit at Heartlands Hospital who looked after them all so well. They do a fantastic job in medically and emotionally difficult situations and anything we can do in return for what they've done for our family, we're glad to.
