Fourth grade is vital year for students this is the year when they make transition from learning to read to reading to learn in subjects like history, science and math. Even before the emergence of COVID-19, 36% of 4th graders nation-wide read behind grade level. It has been shown that students who cannot read at grade level by 4th grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. With the return of in-person academics at Jack & Jill Center, it is vital that our children have the tools they need for a successful school year as they set a strong academic foundation for years to come.
You can help! Support our children by making a gift to our Back to School - #ChangetheOdds Fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for scholarships and other essential items needed for our students to come back to school both safely and effectively.
