During an arduous night the organisers stopped the race after a number of avalanches. Everyone is safe and back down off the mountain. We are all on our way to the final ceremony now where we expect to collect the 'most kit carried' and 'only team in military uniform' awards.

The civilian race was abandoned due to dangerous high winds. We start tonight at 2100 UK time and you can track us real time on the PDG app (search for Defence Academy A, B and C teams).

Thanks for all the donations so far. We had our first and only training day together today. Our busy jobs have precluded too much preparation but that just adds to the challenge. We are driving back to the camp now and we start tomorrow night; yes skiing up mountains in the dark...
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
