I am Patrick and I am a candidate and Brighton Marathon runner for Team Domenica.

I have been involved with Team Domenica since September 2022 and gained work experience in trying cafes as well as with local employers across Brighton & Hove. I enjoyed the experiences that came with the trainings and qualification I attained. 

Since November 2023 to present I am on a Supported internship at the Queens Hotel in Brighton and hopefully gained paid work through this programme. 

"Last year I ran the 10k but this year I wanted a bigger challenge. My training is going well - I am just running. I'm really looking forward to Marathon Day.". This is something I have never done before and after when I ran the 10k last year the Marathon is something I have been really excited about.

My Family Team has supported through my challenging journey as they are running the Brighton 10k before they are here to cheer me on when I cross the Brighton Marathon finish line with my cousin Charlie as he is helping me to achieve my dream.

Team Domenica provide innovative and personalised employment programmes that develop independence, confidence, communication, and work skills for people with learning disabilities. By running for Team Domenica I’ll be supporting their Wrap Around Programme, this indispensable initiative offers ongoing support to our graduates long after they've entered the workforce. Consider this: the national employment rate for individuals with learning disabilities one year after graduating from a supported internship program stands at a mere 25%. But for Team Domenica candidates, it soars to an incredible 95%. Your support in will help continue this amazing work.
