Story
Patrick was born with a congenital heart defect and had open heart surgery at ten days old. While his heart was repaired, we soon found there were to be many more hurdles to overcome. A few weeks later he had another major surgery and a feeding tube was placed. We went home from the hospital with a very fragile little boy. I am forever in debt to the therapists at the Kids Center, especially Patrick’s feeding therapist Miss Sally. She walked with us through many dark months, seeing Patrick twice a week as we worked toward Patrick feeling better and eating by mouth. She always treated us as though we were her only client, thinking of Patrick in her off hours, bringing special foods or feeding tools that she thought would work well for him. As much as she helped Patrick with her gentleness and patience, she helped me keep my sanity, treating me as a friend and even helping get together a group of mamas and kiddos in similar situations for lunch and play dates. I will always be in debt to the Kids Center for saving us,, which is why we continue to support and fundraise for the Center. Thank you so much for helping us pay it forward so another family can receive the help they need!
The Kids Center kids today will help so many kids live their best lives possible! You can help many kids gain strength and skills through physical, occupational, and speech therapies so they can reach important childhood milestones. Your support for the Walk & Roll will make sure every child receiving therapies at the Kids Center has the best therapist, the best cutting-edge treatment, and no child is turned away for inability to pay. Give to a team, share my fundraising page, and come ready to celebrate children of all abilities on Saturday, May 22nd at 8 am. Service animals are welcome, but please no pets!
