On June 14th I will be starting a six day cycle from Aylesbury to Bordeaux (France), a distance of approx 580 miles, in aid of the PACE Centre. The PACE Centre is an Aylsebury based charity that provides education and life skills to children with Cerebral Palsy. Their aim is to help the childen become as active as possible and to lead as near normal life as they can. One in four hundred children born in the UK have Cerebral Palsy which is caused by damage to the brain and can be of varying severity.

I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the centre and witness first hand some of the therapies used to help the children reach their particular goals. The overwhelming impression was one of happiness despite the battles the children have to fight every minute of their lives just to do the things we all take for granted. It was an extremely emotional experience which has inspired me to keep cycling and every time I am in pain I remember the children and realise hauling myself and a bike up a mountain pales in to insignificance in comparison to their efforts.

All the funds raised will go to the charity as all the riders are paying there own expenses so be generous as you will not be subsiding my trip.
