Story
Thanks to all those who have donated to our Just Giving page in aid of Prostate Cancer Uk. We are now closing the page, so a very big thank you to all who supported us and helped us raise a great amount fooutports at Cancer UK.
We arrived back safely after an exciting and eventful rally. Spectacular scenery and drving over the Col de Bonnette and also the St Bernadino pass. Some of you may have seen some Twit messages from Nice and Monaco where both cars were playing up due to the heat. We only just managed to get out of Monaco with Reg's PI backfiring spectacularly in on one the tunnels. Then we spent an hour in a small Italian village making a number of changes before we got the car going properly again.
We also stopped at Spa Francochamps race circuit and managed to sneak into the stand at O'Rouge to watch a few minutes of an endurance event.
Lots of pictures taken and we hope to put some onto this page as soon as we can. I expect many of you will hear the full story from one of us, probably more than one, over the coming months.
We will leave this page active for another week or so to pick up any stragglerers. Once again a very big Thank You from all of us for your support.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A group of friends including myself, Reg, Jerry, Annie, Chris, Martin and Jason; are taking part in the 2013 Club Triumph 10 Countries run. This takes place from Thusday 5th to Sunday 8th September, so it's in just a couple of weeks. We will be covering over 2000 miles in just a few days in two Triumph saloons from the 1970’s, a red 2500 PI – PTM 762M and a yellow 2000 TC – MGW 388P. Starting in Calais we will travel down through France, pass through Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands before returning to the UK.
This is part of a large event organised every two years by Club Triumph and we will be travelling along with a large number of Triumph car enthusiasts in a variety of Triumph cars from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, so let’s hope all make it ok. Currently about 80 different cars are entered into the event.
While we will be having a great but challenging time along route, we think that it is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for charity and hope that you will support us all in raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
