Willow Foundation - Willow 10K Race · 22 November 2009 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The race is now complete. I finished in a time of 56 mins 55 seconds without stopping. That for me was an acheivement in its self.
The weather for the last 3 miles was absolutely atrocious, rain, hail thunder and strong winds.
Frustratingly after 6 km/h i did manage to slip over in the mud. Although grazed, and eventually no doubt bruised, i sprung up again like spawning salmon. Did not lose my place or affect my time (i'll probably cry later).
All in all despite the weather it was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. When all donations are counted and added to the totals we reckon that as a team we have raised between £1,300 and £1,400.
Many thanks to you all who have donated. I really have appreciated your kindness.

On 23/11/08 a;most 12 months ago we lost one of our best friends Beverley Winfield. She died after suffering bravely for some years with cancer.
Beverley was the wife of Mark Winfield our team captain and a very good and close friend to the rest of the team members and my partner Melanie. She is still greatly missed by all espeicially their two children Bradley and Hannah.
During her illness great enjoyment for her, Mark Bradley and Hannah came from special events that were organised by the Willow Foundation. These events included for example a visit to the theatre to see The Lion King. They gave great joy and offered a necessary vital distraction from their daily nightmare.
It is so that other families in a similar situations can benefit from the Willow Foundations work, this Sunday 22/10/09 i and the rest of the team members will be running the Willow Foundation 10 km run at Knebworth. I have done some training but i accept no where near enough. At some stage during the run i will feel pain and just a little suffering. All this will feel worthwhile if i know that at the end of it i will have raised some money for this very good cause!
Donations do not have to be large. Even many small amounts will add up to a good total. Please donate now so as not to forget.
Many thanks.
