Story

Lulu Blundell x

Unfortunately Lulu passed away on new years day 2023. For anyone that isn't aware of Lulu's story, she was originally diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma ( a type of bone cancer ) at the age of 15 and after a year treatment and a short period of time of 2 years 'cancer free' found out at the age of 19 that her cancer had returned.

Once Lu found out about her re diagnoses she definitely made sure that she lived her best life possible ,wether that meant small trips away to a lodge, going on holidays such as Amsterdam, and also participating in a 5k charity run although having 3 tumours growing inside of her. Which shows you how much of a character she was and still is.

Seeing Lu do all these amazing fund raisers , raising over £100,000 for the TCT , has motivated me to try and do so myself. Me and a few of my close family and friends will be running the London Marathon in memory of my sweet Lu. I understand that this won't be easy as I’ve never ran 26 miles before. But the challenge alone is something I’d love to conquer in memory of Lulu. I previously completed the tough mudder 15k in the summer of 2023 and I believe running the London marathon is the next step in my fundraising journey.

Losing not only my girlfriend but my best friend to cancer hasn't been easy, but this event that I'm taking part in has given me something to work towards. For a lot of people that lose someone so close and dear to them feel is if they don't have any drive and they have lost hope for all good in the world, which is understandable , but raising money for the teenage cancer trust has given me the motivation I needed to make sure I don't self destruct. I also know Lulu wouldn't want me or anyone to be moping around and feeling sorry for themselves. I want to make her proud.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your days to read my Just giving page. I understand that everyones finances are complicated in these hard times, but any donation is a huge contribution to the causes I'm raising money for. For the Teenage Cancer Trust , and the Legacy of my beautiful Lu.

Paddy x
