I need your help!

I’m a young vulnerable girl and homeless. At first glance you may see a ‘junky’ looking for money for a fix, or a pimp. Maybe a runaway that’ll be home soon or maybe a lost cause. Perhaps there’s a feeling of helplessness as you can’t help everyone.

I’m a young girl who had a respectable job and accommodation. When my job ended abruptly through no fault of my own, I was evicted. I was promised somewhere to stay however not until 24hrs later.

I went to the local park and picked a bench, cliche I know, at the time it was ‘the norm’.

I was approached by a youth around my age that insisted I went home to their family. I stayed with them for a few months before returning to my family.

I was extremely fortunate to have the intervention of that person and their kindness. Not everyone in my situation is so lucky. I didn’t leave my family due to some of the horrible scenarios above, I left because of experiences that I wanted to escape.

I often wonder what my life would look like now, if it wasn’t for that act of kindness.

Through holistic support for young people experiencing homelessness, we believe we can make a real difference to their futures.
