Story
I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and encouragement of so many people over the last few months and especially since I mimbled my chubby and unfit self over the finishing line last Sunday.
You all know I hate running and so, of course, I walked it - but it was a really hot day and it turns out I’ve also had gastroenteritis, (too much information?) so that partly explains why it’s taken me so long to update my page.
Thanks to a tough massage on Monday, unbelievably and undeservedly I can walk and even do stairs! The guy is clearly a miracle-worker; found by Rebecca online, he used to work for Leighton Orient FC (with him around I don’t know why they were not more successful!). Anyway, it was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had when he popped and kneaded his way round my stiff muscles but, I kid you not, from Tuesday onwards because I know I should be walking like a. Cowboy, it seems extraordinary to believe I did 26.2 miles in dodgy trainers and on elderly legs!
If anyone wants to acknowledge the magnificent achievement of my masseur, do feel free to make a last-minute donation. Contact is a fabulous charity https://contact.org.uk/For every shape and size of family, whatever they need and whatever their child’s disability,
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
