Story
Singing at Carnegie Hall has been a dream of mine that I thought would never happen. This is any singer’s dream. Here’s my chance and I’m so very excited. I’ve been invited to join Master Chorale for this amazing event. This chance does not come without expense, so I am asking you to join my fundraiser. This is a non-profit, tax deductible donation.
I started performing at the age of 8, without my parent’s knowledge, at a park in Cleveland, Ohio. I’ve sang in my choirs at elementary,
middle school and high school with a big show my Senior year. I have sung in many church choirs and continue to do so. I have been with Prescott Pops Symphony Choir for 4 years and Master Chorale at Yavapai College for 7 years.
Below, see additional information given to us by Yavapai College.
Students from Master Chorale (MUS 224) and Chamber Singers (MUS 222) are traveling to NYC to perform Verdi's "Requiem" at Carnegie Hall in March of 2023. Professor of Choral Music Dr. Joshua Harper explains, "The opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The history of this iconic performance venue along with the opportunity to sing one of the most famous musical works is an experience that is unparalleled for students. This specific work is one that requires extremely large forces, the sort of work we would not produce at the College. In traveling to NYC, we can experience this work as an ensemble along with musicians from around the country."There are 32 students singed up for the Carnegie Hall trip, but traditional-aged students in particular struggle to find money to pay for tours like this. Your donation will help YC students join once-in-a-lifetime experiences like this now, and in years to come.
