Story

Behind only Sir Gordon Richards in the all-time list with a total of 4,732 winners, Pat had a hugely successful career and was Champion Jockey on 11 occasions in Britain, riding three Derby winners as well as four victories, including on Dancing Brave, in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe - a joint record. In 1985 he won the Breeders’ Cup Turf and in 1991 the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. He retired from riding in 2003 and set up as a trainer at his own Buckinghamshire-based Musk Hill Stud in 2005.
