Story
A disease is RARE when it affects fewer than 1 in 2,000.
Over 6000 rare diseases globally, 72% are genetic and almost 1 out of 5 cancers is rare!
There are over 300 million people globally living with a Rare Disease and it can take up to 10 years to be correctly diagnosed! Currently over 95% of patients diagnosed with a rare disease have no access to treatment or curative therapies. In our current climate this is just not good enough.
We want to raise awareness and funds to support the great work Genetic Alliance UK are doing to educate, support and help change the landscape for patients & caregivers.
Partners4Access is pledging to take on the UK Three Highest Mountains Challenge in 24 hours! (3 Peaks Challenge). This is considered to be one of most physically challenging adventures and will require determination, grit and a good level of fitness
Challenge details: The National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m). Over the course of two days, we will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m

Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.
Since its creation in 2008, Rare Disease Day has played a critical part in building an international rare disease community that is multi-disease, global, and diverse– but united in purpose.
Rare Disease Day is observed every year on 28 February (or 29 in leap years)—the rarest day of the year and has events held in over 100 countries since 2019!
Rare Disease Day was set up and is coordinated by EURORDIS and 65+ national alliance patient organisation partners. Rare Disease Day provides an energy and focal point that enables rare diseases advocacy work to progress on the local, national and international levels.
