Story
At the end of April I am donning my trainers and hitting the road in an attempt to run further than I've ever been before. That's right, I'm running a marathon!
Not a half-marathon, or a 10k (both of which I've done before), but 26.2 gruelling miles. It's not going to be easy, just like dragging myself out of bed every sunday morning over the past 12 weeks to put in long training runs hasn't been easy.
However, I'm hoping to raise lots of money for charity to make all the pain worthwhile.
I'm rasing money for The Christie, who are based right here in Manchester but are the largest Cancer centre in Europe. They help a whopping 25% of cancer patients in the UK. We all know that cancer is awful and we all know too many people who've been affected by it. My nana Joyce sadly died from breast cancer when I was 10, and I personally can't think of a better cause to support.
Any donation you can make to me is so, so appreciated, no matter how small- every penny counts when it comes to trying to beat this disease. Knowing that i'm helping to fundraise for such an amazing charity will definitely help get me round the course and will hopefully inspire me to just keep on running!
Thanks so much,
Paris
