Story
I am raising funds to support the work of the MND Association, a UK based charity that raises funds to advance research to make Motor Neurone Disease reversible. There are about 5,000 people in the UK living with MND. I am aiming to raise £5,000 for MNDA.
Earlier this year, I joined Mission 5000, a challenge to help cover 5000 miles over the entire month of September. My personal target was to swim, e-cycle (on my Peloton bike) or walk a total of 250 miles. I successfully completed the challenge, with support from my wife, family, friends and work colleagues. My Mum passed away a few weeks after I completed my challenge and she knew that I was involved in supporting the MNDA.
I am doing this in honour of my Mum, who battled so bravely against MND for two years. There is no cure for MND, so we need to support enhanced research efforts to better understand the disease and arrive at effective drugs that can help to significantly retard progression of the disease, and ultimately reverse this chronic condition. That will allow patients better chances of survival.
Your donation will help to ensure no one faces MND alone. I want to use my Mum's legacy to continue supporting the fight against MND.
