About Panthera:

'Panthera is a special breed of conservation organization. Subscribing fully to Edward R. Murrow's observation that 'difficulty' is the one excuse which history does not accept, our single-minded aim is nothing less than to define all the key hurdles facing wild cat conservation globally and, in tandem with our strategic partners, to channel efficiently and quickly the financial and intellectual capital required to meet those challenges. Panthera's ambition is ultimately nothing less than to save all wild cat species across their ranges, and to do so in a scientifically rigorous and sustainable manner.

Panthera has moved quickly since its inception in 2006 to initiate programs across a broad arc, touching - even redefining - numerous aspects of wild cat conservation. Some of our initial collaborations include working with the American Museum of Natural History in New York on felid genetics; setting up and supporting some of the most ambitious range-wide conservation programs with the Wildlife Conservation Society on tigers, lions and jaguars; collaboration with WWF and the Snow Leopard Conservation Trust on snow leopards; and joint-ventures with Oxford University's WildCru, Kenya’s Northern Rangelands Trust, and the Zoological Society of London. In addition, Panthera has independently initiated the first global scholarship program for post-graduate research in wild cat studies, established a young scientist and lifetime achievement award for work on wild cats, and put together a strategic lands initiative to assist in the purchase of vast tracts of land linking protected areas in critical habitats, such as the Brazilian Pantanal.

If, as Marcus Aurelius once wrote to himself, "one’s worth is no greater than their ambitions", Panthera’s value has already been felt. Indeed, for an organization founded so recently, the facts on the ground have perhaps justifiably created an impression that Panthera represents one of the most exciting movements to emerge in wild cat conservation''. Thomas Caplan Chairman of PANTHERA.

Thank you so much for kindnes & support xxxxx Dee
