Story
My name is Pandav Mahato. I have been a passionate runner since my
childhood. At that time I use to run barefoot and swim in Kamla River in my native country of Nepal. There is always something in me that drove me to run and keep fit. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2008. I was under lots of pain and stress for the next year and a half. In 2009 after a successful operation and lots of positive support from my friends and family, I was able to beat cancer. During my treatment I was always able to receive good support and lots of counselling. At that time I was following Cancer Research UK and its programme. Since then I always wanted to something about this cruel disease which takes so many lives each year worldwide. Cancer Research UK is the perfect platform for the people like me. It would be my honour to be able to contribute something back to those tackling the issue of cancer so more people in the future can be cancer free like myself.
Thank you all for supporting me!
