Story
My name is Pandav Mahato. I have been a passionate runner since my childhood. At that time I use to run barefoot and swim in Kamla River in my native country of Nepal. There is always something in me that drove me to run and keep fit. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2008. I was under lots of pain and stress for the next year and a half. In 2009 after a successful operation and lots of positive support from my friends and family,
I was able to beat cancer. During my treatment, I was always able to receive good support, and counselling from the NHS here in the UK.
At that time, I was relating myself to the people with a similar disease in Nepal. Who does not have enough information on how to keep one fit, Exercise, Balance diet, proper medication and treatment. I was very lucky to be living in the UK to benefit from world-class treatment.
Since then I always wanted to do something about this cruel disease which takes so many lives each year worldwide. For that reason, I will be running two marathon in one week this year to raise the health awareness, to be active and fit.
Thank you all for supporting me.
Pandav
