Story

My elderly aunt had been partially sighted as a result of a bus accident in 1938 but this did not prevent her living a very active life. She was a lifelong reader.  As the sight in her good eye began to deteriorate she worked her way through the large print books in her local library and audio books.  The opportunity to volunteer for RNIB Radio Connect was directly as a result of my aunt's situation and I began, by chance, on the  3rd August 2012 which was my aunt's 93rd birthday.  I have been privileged to work with the lovely staff there and fellow guest presenters.  My Marathon Mate is my good friend and fellow guest presenter Maureen Rupp whom I am delighted to say became involved when I chatted to her about Radio Connect.
