I'm supporting Mission Direct short mission trips because I've always given to charities and I've never known if my money actually made a difference, there was never any proof that my money went on anything at all. With Mission Direct I could go and see what my money would go on. I chose a place where children were in need of the loving care all children should have and put my name down. The mission is do-able, two weeks is just enough to get off work, and still have time to make a difference. All I had to do is work non stop and use all my spare money to cover the cost of the trip. Then I had to think of ways to fundraise for the building costs. Building two classrooms and toilets will cost around £29000 so we had to get a move on. There is 20 of us fundraising to get this money, our team is made up of people willing to give up their summer holiday to make a difference to give children new families and more space at school. So far we've fundraised with cake pops, Christmas stalls, face painting, sponsored 10 mile run, carnival workshops, Silver band concert, a quiz, and an X factor concert.
