Cardiff Half Marathon 2022 · 27 March 2022 ·

Welcome to our #TeamDementiaUK campaign for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2021. We have a huge team of amazing supporters who will be stepping over the iconic Welsh start line this March - all to support Dementia UK and our wonderful Admiral Nurses.

Story

I'm taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon 2021 (postponed to 1st October 2023) to support families facing dementia across the UK. Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through their Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving them compassionate one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

My Granny was an independent women who who raised a family and put her self through university and always wanted more for everyone around her. She worked hard and enjoyed her life and to see her struck down in her last years with dementia was heart breaking for all those around her.

I want to raise awareness and raise money for Dementia UK, they have some wonderful services which should be used and shouted about!

Thanks you everyone for your support, I am not a natural running but even if i have to walk I will be over that finish line!
