Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2014, I had hardly ran the length of myself without collapsing in a heap, but two of my friends inspired me to join Parkrun on a Saturday morning. Parkrun is a free, timed 5km event run in many parks throughout the UK. My first 5K was, in my eyes, a disaster!! I had walked more than I had run, and I had come last. But I persevered and from Feb 2015 I have been able to run 5km every week without stopping. In June this year, I completed my first 10km trailrun - Again I came last, but this time it was a major achievement - I had done it!
Through my work as an Occupational Therapist, I meet and work with some wonderful and brave people. I met such a lady just a few months ago. She has just been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and is not letting anything stand in her way. I am raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Scotland to help them continue to provide their amazing support services to people with Motor Neurone Disease and their families.
I cannot promise that I will run the full 10k over the Erskine Bridge, but I will give it my best shot!! My aim is to beat my previous time of 1hr 16mins to get a new pb for PB. If you feel that you can spare a few pounds for this amazing charity, I would be very grateful.
Thank you :-)
