Story
We'll celebrate 35 years of love and marriage on April 5, and 15 years of sobriety on April 17. The first celebration wouldn't be possible without the second.
We drove to Williamsburg on April 17, 2006, shortly after our 20th anniversary, where I was treated for addiction at The Farley Center. To celebrate and honor our 35th anniversary, April 3 - 8, Tom will crew me as I run across Virginia to The Farley Center, approximately 209 miles. Our purpose is to shine a light on unconditional love and the power of healing and recovery.
Our fundraising campaign will support the work of both Herren Project and the Franklin County Juvenile Drug Court.
Herren Project is a national nonprofit organization providing free resources and support for the treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder. Services include treatment placement assistance, long-term recovery support
for individuals and families, online support groups, prevention and wellness initiatives, as well as scholarships for treatment programs, recovery housing and recovery coaching.
The Franklin County Juvenile Drug Court is an intensive 12-month community based program focusing on individual treatment for the participant and their family/custodians.
