This is my first Marathon and no doubt you are surprised to see I have taken on this huge challenge. 26.2 miles is a very long way but I am determined to jog, walk, crawl (or hitch a ride on a rhino) to complete the course. Somehow! It may take me all day but will be worth the effort.

As education is such an important part of my life, I am supporting Children in Crisis. This charity works to help disadvantaged and vulnerable children suffering the effects of poverty, conflict and disease in Africa and Asia - specifically in Afghanistan, Burundi, DR Congo, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

By working with local communities, Children In Crisis makes sure that any donations you give to this fundraising project will end up going towards providing invaluable support in adult literacy, teacher training and child protection in the areas that need it most.

Some examples of where your donation could be going:-
£7 could buy pencils for a whole classroom in Afghanistan.
£19 could buy a school toolkit for a class in Liberia.
£270 could pay for a workshop on gender equality for Girls in rural Liberia or Sierra Leone.
£1,979 could buy school equipment (desks, tables, chairs, cupboards) for one school in DR Congo or Liberia.
