Story
Did my 30miles last night and then Bee and Lottie sent me this lovely photograph of a murmuration of starlings --Isn't nature amazing! Let's keep it that way -- I am cycling 100 miles a week to support our BirdLife Partners who because of travel restrictions and the lack of eco-tourism are suffering loss of income and threats to our wildlife. I appreciate your support. (Any astronomers out there who can tell us if that twinkly star is Venus -- photo shot in the North Sky in Suffolk!)
The pandemic has disrupted conservation work and funding, with potential repercussions for years to come. If the money disappears, people lose their jobs, their ability to support their families and communities and we lose landscapes, birds and other creatures.
Travel restrictions are hitting some of our Partners hard: their livelihoods have been negatively impacted by the ban on travel and tourism and wildlife is at risk.
So I am 'going the distance for our BirdLife Partners'. I will cycle 100 miles each week for 4 weeks and hope you will sponsor me to keep going.
I will post my mile reports so you can track my progress. Nature keeps me going in these unprecedented times -- I'd like to help those who look after it.
