Next week  - on 24th June Pam and Lydia are to compete in the Great North Swim, Lake Windermere which is one mile or about 65 lengths of a swimming pool, with no stopping or push-offs, to raise money for Macmillan..

The water will be lower than 15 degrees. (We have to get into the lake before the race to warm up!)

But it will be hopefully very exciting to take part in. There are about 200 people in each wave so a little busy until the field begins to spread out - the only problem is it is really difficult to see where you are going - but we are hoping to be pretty speedy and survive to tell the tale.
