Returning to Pakistan for the first time after 20 years. Never visited my father whilst he was there. Going back now, to fulfil a legacy as a Sadaqah Jariyah on his behalf. My father would distribute food packages in Ramadhaan for those in need and asked us to do the same. I’d appreciate any donations towards these food packs and/or any of the other projects found on the page with Action for Humanity. I will be hand delivering this aid in shā Allah in the first week of Ramadhaan.I’m nothing if not my daddy’s girl & I’d be grateful for your support to keep his work and his memory alive as were amongst his final wishes. This project is Zakat eligible.
Millions of people have been affected by floods in Pakistan, hundreds have been killed, and the government has declared a national emergency. Initial estimates show more than 900 people had been killed since June - including 34 in the past 24 hours. Many sit with just beds - all their possessions lost to the water. The streets are flooded, and plastic waste has spewed out of sewage pipes. Large pools of dirty water have collected, slowing down any drainage. Residents are worried the standing water will bring waterborne diseases with it. It's been raining all week in Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh province. There's been little respite for communities hoping to return home to see what can be salvaged. A number of homes in the city and towns have also been damaged - left with just the walls. Thousands whose homes were swept away now live in tents, miles away from their inundated villages and towns, after being rescued by local disaster workers and volunteers.Key Facts • At least 900 people have lost their lives, including 77 children•Over 500 people have been injured in the floods•Over 34,000 homes have been deluged•977km of road infrastructure and 61 bridges have been destroyed•In Balochistan alone, over 150,000 people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistanceThe Action for Humanity Team are mobilising emergency Aid Immediately to affected areas. £50.00- Provides a Dignity kit -During the most desperate situations such as the aftermath of a natural disaster or during a conflict, AFH distributes basic supplies to maintain the health and dignity of women and girls.
