Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 28th April 2019 I am running my first (and last!) marathon, the
London Marathon, and far, so good...the training plan is working and lots of encouraging support from. friends and family - thank you very much!

Now with just only 8 days until the big day, I just wanted to say another big  thank you for your generous donations and words of support, they really  mean a lot! I have been training hard and overall have enjoyed the structure and fitness benefits that come with following a training plan properly. I ran the Bath Half Marathon in March comfortably in 1:56 and the Salisbury 10 mile Race last Sunday smashing my PB by 4.5 minutes! I'm feeling fitter, healthier and leaner and cannot wait to run London next
weekend!

I am running for Melanoma UK Incorporating Factor 50, a great charity that supports those and their families affected by melanoma, a type of skin cancer.  On 14th August 2016 I lost my dear Mum to melanoma and saw first hand how awful this disease is, robbing our family of a truly wonderful woman.

It's taken me over two years to get my head around doing a marathon and it seems fitting to do it now and raise money for Melanoma UK, who receive no government funding and who fund nurses and help with vital research.  A perfect combination in memory of my dear Mum who I still miss very much.

So please help support me in this run and in turn support those with melanoma.  Every penny helps and your generosity is greatfully appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. About the campaign

About the charity

Melanoma UK was set up in 2007 in memory of Jon Herron. We support patients and families affected by melanoma (skin cancer) and funds raised help to provide that support. We are funding much needed melanoma nurses along with help in vital research. Melanoma is a cruel disease, still without a cure.
