Story
I’m running the 2022 London marathon for Barnardo’s in memory of my sister Edwina, who was tragically taken from us very suddenly last year.
Edwina worked for Barnardo’s after she left university from 2001-2002 and it had a lifelong impact on her. She remained committed to supporting and promoting children’s charities all her life and always supported Barnardo’s, who help around 350,000 children, young people, parents and carers via more than 800 services across the UK.
Edwina took on her own madcap challenges for a good cause, including a tough mudder in 2018 (photo above), raising money for two children’s charities who supported both our family and a friend’s. I remember training with her round the Rye in High Wycombe and being so impressed by her perseverance and commitment. Running the marathon for Barnardo’s is the kind of challenge she would have set herself and I am proud to run in her memory.
