Paul's Mont Blanc Climb against Cancer

Paul's Mont Blanc Climb against Cancer · 27 August 2017
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is my page for Climbers against Cancer
I would like to try balance the sponsorship between the three charities I am fund raising for. So please also have a look at my pages for Macmillan and Cancer Research also.
I am a keen rock climber and occasional ice climber, however to date Ihave not really been into Alpine Climbing (going to the top of peaks above 4000+ m).
It may sound bizarre given the sports I do undertake, but I judged that Alpine Climbing involved too many objective dangers, plus it required longer stays away from the family.
Well now I have taken that as a challenge and this August 27th, I aim to undertake my first Alpine Objective – Mont Blanc.
I will be going with a friend who has previous Mountain experience and I have taken a skills course, but other than that, this it is an unguided trip.
I realise that Ian Toothill, in summiting Everest in the last few days, rather puts my endeavour in the shade. However, he did have previous Himalayan and Alpine Experience to draw on, and you never know I might be back in a year or two with another begging bowl.
