Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page for Ozaru's 2.6 Challenge - the Virtual Inca Trail.
Lots of things have come together just now: the coronavirus pandemic (which presents a severe risk to gorillas too: see BBC (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-52036712) and UNESCO (https://en.unesco.org/news/great-apes-and-covid-19-additional-threat-already-endangered-species)... the chance to do a 'Virtual Inca Trail' (https://runforcharity.com/the-gorilla-organization/virtual-race--inca-trail/42047) of 25 miles, maybe even a little more... and the 2.6 challenge (see below).
So I'll be donning my gorilla suit, as I have done many times in the past (for the Great Gorilla Run: see http://ozaru.net/bujinkan/ozaru-run.html), and attempting to cover 26 miles in the period April 26 to May 1. I won't be doing it on all fours, as the incredible Mr Gorilla did (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-39770454/mr-gorilla-how-i-crawled-the-london-marathon), but it will still be a challenge. Thankfully the countryside around me is quite deserted so there won't be any problems doing this as part of my daily permitted exercise, and without coming close to other hominids.
I've created another short fundraising video at https://youtu.be/cYoVY0_b4FA (as with all the links above, JustGiving doesn't allow live links so you'll need to Cut and Paste the underlined text).
