Story
In a moment of madness we have taken on a challenge to ride from London to Paris to raise money for the Oxford Transplant Foundation.
On the 28th August we will leave Tower Bridge and cycle 200 miles to the Eiffel Tower, Paris, hopefully arriving on the 30th!
The Oxford Tansplant Foundation has launched a campaign to raise £5 million to build a 20 bedded ward, additional research labs and teaching space.
This is a charity extremely close to our hearts and as a family we have spent many years within the care of this incredible unit. Ray Vincent (husband/father) recieved a kidney transplant which gave him ten very happy and healthy years. He is now currently on the paired transplant scheme and waits with bated breath!
The Oxford Transplant Centre carries out Kidney transplants, Kidney and Pancreas transplants for patients with advanced complications of Diabetes, and more recently cell therapy for Diabetes with the specific intention that this will, one day, be suitable for the treatment of children with Diabetes. Intestinal transplants have also been carried out since 2008, only one of two centres who now carry out this procedure.
